Codes of conduct are an essential part of sport. They outline the standards set out for your administrators, coaches, players and spectators. The Chifley Chiefs Rugby Club Code of Conduct (the Code) is derived from the Rugby Australia Code of Ethics and the Australian Sports Commission.

The Code is designed with the following in mind:

The Chifley Chiefs Rugby Club is committed to promoting and protecting the image and integrity of Rugby Union and all of its participants and all those involved in Rugby to act in accordance with the game’s core values of passion, Integrity, discipline, respect and teamwork.

The Chifley Chiefs Rugby Club's Code of Conduct sets out the behaviours that are expected of all those involved in rugby, including players, coaches, administrators, contractors, directors, volunteers, parents, and spectators in order to ensure that a safe, fair and inclusive environment is provided for all.

1. Your safety and the safety of others associated with the club come first, and always comply with, the Rugby Australia Safety Policies and Guidelines.

2. Treat everyone equally, fairly and with dignity, regardless of gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, cultural or religious background, age or disability. Any form of bullying, harassment or discrimination has no place in Rugby.

3. Accept and respect the authority of your coaches, trainers, administrators and venue staff at all times. Do not abuse, threaten or intimidate, use crude language or gestures, or show unnecessary displeasure or disapproval.

4. Use social media appropriately. By all means share your positive experiences of the club, but do not use social media as a means to breach any of the expectations and requirements of you as a member contained in this Code.

5. Do not otherwise act in a way that may adversely affect or reflect on, or bring you or the club into disrepute or discredit.

6. You must assist in any investigation or disciplinary proceedings and ensure that no inaccurate and/or misleading information is provided by you during the course of an investigation or hearing under this Code or in relation to any other disciplinary proceedings.

7. You must disclose any incident, matter or set of circumstances (irrespective of when it occurred) that does, or has the potential to, render you an unfit or improper person to be a participant in Australian Rugby. This includes any incident, matter or set of circumstances that could damage the game of rugby or bring into question the integrity and good character of its participants.

8. All training equipment, hired facilities, and grounds will be looked after and kept clean and tidy at all times whilst representing the club.
